The Philippine Forest Corporation (PhilForest), being a subsidiary of
the Natural Resources Development Corporation which was created by Executive
Order No. 786, is a government owned and controlled corporation (GOCC). PhilForest's
Articles of Incorporation and By-laws were registered with the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 24,2006 under SEC Registration No.
CS200519117.
The primary purposes of this
corporation are: (a) to provide expert services and competent management to the
country side development program of the government anchored upon an
agro-forestry project by distributing property rights/usufructuary rights over
public agricultural lands and forest lands; (b) to provide support services to
the beneficiaries of PhilForest's programs and projects; (c) to sell,
exchange, import and export agro-forestry products and its by-products; and (d)
to engage in the establishment, development and sale of Clean Development
Mechanism Project under the Kyoto Protocol from its agro-forestry projects.
