The Land Transportation Office
(LTO) is an agency under the Department of Transportation and Communication
that Implements policies, rules, and regulations governing the land
transportation system of the country. The LTO registers motor vehicles (MVs), issues
permits and driver’s licenses, and administers the sale of MV license plates.
They also inspect MVs and ensure that these are compliant with the safety and
operating standards in place. In addition, they also collect fines and
penalties for MV related infractions.
